Built in Canada. Built to Perform.

At MWG Apparel, we believe that when you make clothing designed to protect people, there is no room for compromise.

Flame-resistant and arc-rated workwear is built for some of the most demanding environments in Canada. It needs to withstand heat, hard work, repeated washing, and everyday wear, while providing the protection workers depend on when it matters most.

That is why we continue to believe in something that has been at the heart of MWG for generations: manufacturing in Canada.

Canadian manufacturing is about more than where a garment is made. It is about having the highest quality, maintaining skilled manufacturing capabilities, and having the domestic capacity to respond quickly when our customers need us.

Canadian Manufacturing Matters

MWG has a long history of manufacturing apparel in Winnipeg. That history has given us something increasingly valuable in today's supply chain: domestic manufacturing expertise and capacity.

From production and quality control to finishing and fulfillment, we can keep more of the process close to home. That means fewer variables between the factory and the customer, and greater confidence that the products ordered today can be delivered when they are needed.

For organizations managing large safety apparel programs, that responsiveness can make a meaningful difference.

Quality Starts on the Factory Floor

Our commitment to Canadian manufacturing goes hand-in-hand with our commitment to quality.

MWG is certified to ISO 9001, reinforcing our focus on controlled processes, consistent quality and continuous improvement. We continually evaluate how our garments are manufactured and look for ways to improve the products we put into the hands of workers.

Over the past several years, that commitment has included significant investments in modern manufacturing equipment.

We have added a Kanasi multi-needle machine to improve the application of sew-on reflective tape, resulting in a flatter, more consistent finish. A new bartack machine has improved reinforcement quality while providing greater flexibility and efficiency.

Our new buttseamer has allowed us to produce cleaner, flatter seams with greater consistency, while a new coverstitch machine has improved the quality of hems on sleeves and garment bottoms while helping eliminate skip stitches.

We are also investing in a new button-setting machine that will provide a true lockstitch for button attachment, replacing equipment that has been in service for approximately 60 years.

These may seem like small details. They aren't.

In workwear, the quality of a seam, hem, reinforcement or button attachment can ultimately affect how a garment performs over months and years of use. Quality is built one stitch at a time.

Designed for a Longer Wear Life

The goal isn't simply to make a garment that passes inspection. The goal is to make a garment that performs.

MWG designs and manufactures FR Clothing with the understanding that these garments are working alongside people in demanding environments every day. Durability, comfort, construction and consistency all contribute to the value of a garment over its useful life.

A higher-quality garment can mean fewer replacements, less downtime and a lower overall cost of ownership. That's why we continually invest in our processes and our equipment.

Because when you're manufacturing protective clothing, long-term performance matters.

Canadian Manufacturing. Modern Thinking.

Choosing to manufacture in Canada doesn't mean standing still.

At MWG, our commitment to domestic manufacturing is paired with continual investment in modern technology, improved processes and product development.

We believe the future of Canadian manufacturing depends on doing both. Respecting the expertise and craftsmanship that built our industry while investing in the technology and processes that will move it forward.

Our Winnipeg manufacturing operation gives us the ability to maintain that connection between product development, manufacturing and the customer.

We can identify an opportunity to improve a garment, refine a manufacturing process, invest in equipment and put that improvement into practice, all within our own operation.

That's what continuous improvement looks like when you have manufacturing capacity close to home.

Made Here. Ready When You Need It.

For nearly a century, MWG has been part of Canada's manufacturing story. Today, our commitment is stronger than ever.

We manufacture FR Clothing in Canada because we believe in it. Quality matters. Skilled manufacturing matters. And when the clothing we make is designed to protect workers, getting it right matters most of all.

From the first stitch to the final shipment, our goal remains the same:

Build better clothing. Protect workers. And keep it moving.

That's the advantage of manufacturing in Canada.
